Okiemute Ighoroje inducted into the MTN Project Fame West Africa's wall of fame
After nine weeks of intensive training and competition, OkiemuteIghorodje, has emerged as the winner of MTN Project Fame, West Africa’s biggest music talent hunt.
Okiemite, one of the super six finalists that made it to the final stage of the competition beat off stiffcompetition from Pere, Kitay, Winner, Okemute, Dapo and Elizabeth to walk away with the grand prize of 5 million naira, an SUV, and all expense trip with Praiz to South Africa.
She also won for herself a recording contract worth N20 million, the largest of its kind from any music talent hunt competition.
The other finalists did not go home empty handed as Winner, who performed Adele’s Hello, won for herself N500, 000 naira after she was announced as the sixth best contestant while Dapo who did Labyrinth’s Jealous walked away with N1m for emerging the fourth runner up. Kitay emerged third, winning a salon car and 2 million naira while Pere clinched the N2 million naira cash prize for being the third runner up position after a commendable rendition of Sam Smith’s writing on the wall. Elizabeth could went as far as second position with a cash prize of N3m and a brand new saloon car.
It wasn’t all about the fame seeking music stars. Miss Ige stunned the life audience with a breathtaking performance of Hallelujah while Adekunle Gold also took to the stage to perform some of his hit tunes.
However, the night belonged to Okiemute. The Delta State born song bird got the audience dancing to Phyno’sFadaFada.
While Okiemute continues to bask in the glory of her new found fame status, all attention will turn to Season 10 of the popular music talent hunt!
